The Tacwise DCN50LHH2 air mini conical coil nailer is an exceptional tool for the fixing of riven and sawn laths for period restoration.
It took quite a few years of trial and error to find the best nail gun for fixing timber laths that would also work with the correct nails for the job.
Hand nailing is time consuming and labour intensive and in many circumstances not appropriate for historic fabric where it can cause more damage than you are trying to repair.
A nail gun is essential for fixing large areas of sawn or riven lath quickly and sensitively.
We have been using two of these exact nail guns for nearly ten years each and they have not missed a beat once. At just 1.5kg it is light enough to use above your head on ceilings all day long and will fire the stainless steel ring shank nails that are crucial to the longevity of lath and plaster.
We have been using these happily with a small 24 ltr air compressor. (not sold)
We recommend the 32mm stainless steel 2.1 gauge wire collated conical coil nails with a blunt point to reduce splitting. (see our nails section)
